🎄Christmas Countdown: 9 Days Until Christmas 🎄

Track-by-track Commentary: Til You Walk In

“’Til You Walk In” might sound like a love song at first listen, but underneath it, it’s one of the most personal pieces on the album.

I wrote this one about shared custody. About calendars and hand-offs and countdowns. And about one very lucky little boy who has four parents who adore him.

The holidays shift a little in homes like ours. You still decorate. You still plan. But there’s a quiet truth that sits underneath all of it: the season doesn’t feel whole until he walks back through the door.

I wanted the lyrics to be open enough that anyone could hear someone they miss in it, a partner, a child, a sibling, a friend who lives far away. But for me, this song is for my baby boy. It’s my softest pain wrapped in Christmas lights.

It carries that almost-complete feeling. The way a house changes when the right person comes home. The way the holiday finally clicks into place. The way presence fills a room deeper than any decoration ever could.

It’s a cute, cozy, miss-you Christmas track.

You can find the lyrics to Til You Walk In here, along with all of the other tracks from A Very Canary Christmas.
